For the year July 1 2025 – June 30 2026
Commissioners formerly represented the Opticians Association of America (OAA), the National Academy of Opticianry (NAO), the National Federation of Opticianry Schools (NFOS), and the public. As two of the appointing agencies (OAA and NFOS) are now part of the new United Optician’s Association (UOA), the makeup and appointing agencies will change once the discussion about COA representation and some Bylaws changes have occurred. At this time the former OAA appointees are listed as Optical Profession, and the former NFOS appointees are listed as Formal Educator.
Each term is three years, and a Commissioner may serve no more than two consecutive terms. The terms begin on July 1, and expire on June 30 of the year listed.
