10/15/19 A one-day on-site on 10/7/2019 observed compliance in III. Curriculum and IV. Resources and subsequently having been found in full compliance with the Essentials of an Accredited Educational Program for Opticianry, the program in Opticianry at Benjamin Franklin Institute of Technology received Reaffirmation of Accreditation for a period of six years, retroactive to 3/26/2018.
9/21/19 To acknowledge that a scheduled one-day visit was postponed due to illness and will be rescheduled.
3/24/19 Upon reviewing findings during an on-site visit on October 14-15, 2018 that (1) the program director’s office does not provides privacy and that the location is not secure for record maintenance (Essentials IV. E); and (2) there is not a functional on-campus dispensary or clinical externship (Essentials V.A). To award accreditation for a period of one year with the condition of a one-person revisit to the program in fall of 2019 to verify that deficiencies have been addressed.
