The following represent COA accreditation action taken in the last six (6) years:
2/19/2025 To accept the progress report, and extend the accreditation period to 2027 to give the program time to complete the documentation of certifications.
10/17/2024 The Annual Statistics were accepted.
10/14/2024 At an on-site visit in February 2024 the program was found in partial compliance with the Essentials of an Accredited Educational Program for Opticianry. Issues included documentation of certifications for some instructors and preceptors, and some reviews that had not occurred in the last year. The program in Vision Care Technology at Essex County College received Reaffirmation of Accreditation for a period of two years, to February 2, 2026, with the option to extend to the full 6 years when the program has been brought into compliance.
